"She [Lodhi] completed her tenure and as FM [Foreign Minister] has said, she served Pakistan with distinction and commitment and organised the Prime Minister's successful UNGA visit with skill and dedication," Dr Faisal stated in a tweet while responding to speculations that Lodhi was replaced following an alleged leaked letter to India about Pakistan's request to the UN for releasing some amount from the accounts of Hafiz Saeed, Haji Muhammad Ashraf and Zafar Iqbal enabling them to meet their daily expenses.
On October 1, 2019, Prime Minister Imran Khan while approving appoints of many other ambassadors to some of the world capitals, also replaced Lodhi with the seasoned diplomat Munir Akram who will soon join his new assignment in New York.
